About myGengo
We’re a Tokyo-based startup making translation simple, and breaking down language barriers left, right and center. Customers order human translation online through our website or our new API that lets you plug into our growing network of over 1,000 translators. We make cool tools like String to help making a multi-language site easy and fast.
myGengo is funded by awesome international investors including 500 Startups (Dave McClure), Felix Miller (Last.fm), Joshua Schachter (Delicious.com), Christoph Janz and high-profile local Japanese entrepreneurs. We’re growing fast, and the opportunity to be a part of the early team won’t be around for long.
Ideal working environment
We’re a strongly collaborative team where the design process and great ideas are valued, so we’ve created a flexible, comfortable, relaxed working space (standing desks, beanbags) to help things happen.
We work to create cool things, make the world a better place, and have fun.
Our staff are a smart & experienced international group (from Canada, USA, France, Germany, UK, Japan), all of whom have lived overseas.
Most of us speak more than one language, and all of us have a burning desire to help the world communicate.
Live and work in Japan
If you’re looking for an opportunity to work in a new country, Japan is one of the most exciting countries to move to.
The vibrant local culture and amazing food, combined with great public services and almost zero crime make it a low-risk, high reward choice for living abroad.
myGengo’s office is in Sendagaya, in the heart of Tokyo, the 4th most “livable” city in the world , as voted by Monocle Magazine.
Our office is surrounded by quiet streets, but minutes from restaurants, bars, shops and the huge green space of Yoyogi Park.
Relocation help
To make a transition as smooth as possible, we are happy to create a relocation package for non-Japan residents covering the following:
- Moving costs
- Assistance with administration and foreigner registration in Japan
- Assistance finding accommodation for arrival and long-term
- Japanese language-learning (if desired)
