People don’t wear suits, there is no rigid corporate structure, and the friendly relaxed atmosphere belies the professionalism de... Read more

myGengo Usage Trends 2010

When myGengo launched, its founders each had their own translation itches to scratch.  One founder - who was not bilingual - was frequently tapping friends and family for help on translating short snippets of text.  Another founder who was bilingual was often asked by friends and colleagues for translation assistance.  In both cases, the content to translate was often under 300 - 400 words, not much longer than this blog post!  So it didn't make sense - financially and time-wise - to find, explain, evaluate, and negotiate with a traditional translation firm.  In fact, the requests would often be turned down because the overhead for the trad... myGengo’s new homepage… now with more gengo-chan!

Maybe you've noticed...but things look a tad different around myGengo, don't they? Redesign, Phase 1 This is phase 1 of our website redesign and it's mostly little tweaks and improvements to our system to make the overall experience at myGengo for our customers and translators a pleasant one. But there's some important ones that I wanted to specifically mention: When placing an order, you can now exclude words from the word count (URLs, company/product names you don't want translated) by placing "[[[ ]]]" around the words. myGengo is pleased to announce the release of our first annual "State of the Translation Industry 2009" Report! Please download the report here.
